Covid-19 - Blind Date with a Book

Update June 30th

We have now sent out the final book club parcels to the following EU countries and will open regular ordering in the near future:

  • Austria
  • Belgium
  • Denmark
  • Finland
  • France
  • Germany
  • Ireland
  • Netherlands
  • Portugal
  • Spain
  • Sweden

However, the rest of the world outside of these countries and the Uk still remains off limits for shipping at this time.

Update June 21st

From today we are able to accept and send new orders for our UK customers. We have successfully found a shipper to help us deliver our book club to some of our readers in Europe. We will be putting all remaining books into the one parcel for customers and they will start shipping at the end of the week.

Unfortunately shipping to the rest of the world is uncertain at this time but we will update everyone once there is more information.


Update June 8th

Unfortunately we still are not able to accept new orders at this time due to the Blind Date staff not be allowed back to work yet. Thank you for all the support message we have received over the last few months and we continue to be optimistic that we can reopen for business sooner rather than later.

As soon as we have any update we will let you know.

What does this mean for Book Club?

For our international Book Club, we unfortunately were not able to send out the April, May or June Book Club as we had initially hoped. At this time our international mail partner has not resumed their pre-Covid operations so we are currently seeking a new partner. As soon as this happens we will send out the remaining Book Club parcels.

For our domestic Book Club, as Royal Mail did continue to operate during this time all of those have been sent and should have been received by this time. We are currently not signing up new or existing members to the book club but will, once we have cleared this Covid-19 hurdle.


What does this mean for a replacement book I was to receive ?

Sending out a replacement book requires us to essentially issue a new order and since we can’t currently access that part of the warehouse we will have to wait until we open for business as usual to send them out. Rest assured, they haven’t been forgotten but will take longer to organise than we would like.



March 26th

With the continued uncertainty of Covid-19 we have had to temporarily close our little bookshop in England where we ship Blind Date with a Book from. Unfortunately we cannot accept new orders at this moment but hopefully this situation will pass soon.

March 24th - Due to the current Covid-19 situation many businesses including ours have encountered unforeseen issues that have never been a problem before.

The most pressing problem that we are currently facing is, that our international mail carrier is no longer able to guarantee delivery of our parcels. For this reason, we have made the very hard decision to suspend the shipping of any orders, that are outside of England.


What does this mean for an order I have already placed?

We hope that all orders that have been shipped out thus far, will indeed arrive at the destination. Please take into account, that these orders may take longer to arrive than initially expected , but that should eventually arrive.

If your order has been placed after the 18th of March, then you will receive an email from us soon regarding a refund for that purchase. 

We apologise for any inconvenience and ask for your patience and understanding with this.
